Enterprise
An important part of the YouthBridge SEIC is the requirement for participants to develop a social enterprise business plan. Most prizewinners require investment capital to fund their entrepreneurial start-up or expansion. YouthBridge, along with other philanthropic investors, invests in and mentors these agencies as they roll-out their new business model to help insure their success. St. Louis ArtWorks, the 2006 YouthBridge SEIC prizewinner, developed a successful social enterprise called the Boomerang Press with venture funding and mentoring from YouthBridge. Three years after their award, YouthBridge remains active in their support. Read more about St. Louis ArtWorks at www.stlartworks.org.
