YouthBridge Changes Name to YouthBridge Community Foundation

Name Change Better Describes Mission for 21st Century

St. Louis, MIssouri , February 19, 2008 -

YouthBridge Association changed our name to YouthBridge Community Foundation and invested  $390,000 in the sustainability of three local children's charities.   St. Louis Artworks, HavenHouse St. Louis and Good Shepherd School for Children each received funding during a celebration, hosted by Black Twig Communications, on February 19 at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Clayton.  In addition, $85,000 was presented to Washington University Skandalaris Center for the ongoing support of the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition (SEIC).   The  $475,000 of funding represents YBCF's continued commitment to our 3E strategy of enterprise investments, endowment building and education.

The new name better describes our role in the philanthropic community and the children's social services sector.  "Our mission at the YouthBridge Community Foundation has not changed," Norm Moenkhaus, co-executive Director of Operations and Development, said.  "We will continue to assist social agencies, which support disadvantaged children, to become financially sustainable and build capacity.  And, now, we offer philanthropic, financial and legal guidance to donors and financial advisors and co-invest with those who want to help children's charities."
